Apply a Chaos Black undercoat to the model.

Heavily drybrush the majority of the Hive Node with Regal Blue.

Very lightly, yet repeatedly, drybrush a highlight onto the Hive Node with Ice Blue.

Paint the snaking tendils with a few coats of slightly watered-down Scab Red.

Carefully highlight the tendrils with a few coats of slightly watered-down Blood Red.
